The list is kept on the device.\n* LAN scan: detects the current Wi-Fi subnet and probes addresses in parallel to\n  list reachable hosts, attempting host-name resolution over NetBIOS and mDNS.\n* Online / offline indication: a per-device indicator based on ping results,\n  refreshed on app start, on return to the foreground and on manual ping. The\n  state only changes after two consecutive matching results, to reduce false\n  readings from transient packet loss.\n* Ping: sends ten pings at one-second intervals and shows each result plus a\n  summary.\n* Stale-IP recovery: if a Wake-on-LAN or manual ping fails to reach a registered\n  device's saved IP address, WolLight runs one LAN scan and looks for the same\n  device by its registered MAC address. If it is found at a different address,\n  the saved IP address is updated only after you confirm.\n\nPrivacy and network behaviour:\n\n* All traffic stays on the local network. Magic packets, pings and host-name\n  resolution (NetBIOS, mDNS, ARP) are local-network only.\n* No account, no cloud sync, no external HTTP services.\n* No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting.\n* Registered device details are stored only in a local database on the device.\n\nLimitations:\n\n* Local network only. Wake-on-LAN uses broadcast packets, so only devices on the\n  same LAN can be woken. Waking a PC across the internet needs a separate VPN or\n  port-forwarding setup that WolLight does not provide.\n* The target PC must already support and be configured for Wake-on-LAN in its\n  BIOS/UEFI, network adapter driver and (on Windows) power settings.\n* Whether the PC actually wakes depends on that PC's ha","categories":["Connectivity"]}
